Kansas State pulled the upset, beating the nation’s top ranked team Oklahoma 69-80 at Fred Bramlage Coliseum, home of the Wildcats. After the game concluded, many eager student fans were waiting to join their beloved team on the court to celebrate the win but were stopped by many security officers. So the Kansas State players saw only one option- to go in to the stands and celebrate with their fellow students.
Notre Dame pulled off the next best upset of the day by beating #2 UNC at home 76-80 in South Bend, Indiana. The buildup for this game was huge as ESPN GameDay covered the game. Once the final buzzer sounded, hundreds of Notre Dame students stormed the court- the first students on the court of course were shirtless. The spectacle created by students hugging the players and crowding the court was impressive to say the least.
